Home > Samantha Personal Trainer
samMYSport has been major part of my life from an early age right through until today. Starting with basketball at the age of 6 until I was 16 where I made the change to play women’s football. I still play the game today and have even had the privilege of representing my state. Many people might think that making the transition to being a personal trainer was an easy choice and it some ways it was. My sporting background certainly helps but my inspiration to help and motivate others comes from much closer to home...and the heart. My family struggled as I was growing up; poor food choices that led to obesity, diabetes and heart problems are just a few of the aliments that I was exposed to. My mother suffers from diabetes at the moment; my step-dad is obese and has had 2 major heart scares in recent years. But perhaps the biggest inspiration to me comes from my older sister who was determined to lose 40kg, gained through eating after constant schoolyard bullying, at 16 years of age. I guided her through the journey, rode the highs and lows, and eventually the weight came off. My motivation to become a personal trainer was based on the first hand experience I have had and witnessing the debilitating affects a poor diet and never exercising has on the body. Not only do I want to keep helping the family I love dearly but I also want to help others overcome the same hurdles in life.
